How BestPriceScanner Works

From search to purchase in under 30 seconds. Here's exactly what happens when you use BestPriceScanner.

STEP 01

Search Any Product

Type a product name, brand, model number, or scan a UPC barcode. We search our database of products from Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, eBay, and more.

Try searches like "Sony WH-1000XM5", "MacBook Air M3", or a UPC like "027242923782"

STEP 02

Compare Prices Side-by-Side

We show you the current price at every retailer that carries the product, ranked from lowest to highest. See stock availability, retailer ratings, and verified badges.

Prices update every hour. The "Best Value" tag always marks the cheapest verified in-stock option.

STEP 03

Check the Price History

See 90 days of price history so you know whether you're looking at a real deal or just a normal price. Our chart shows every price change across retailers.

If the current price is near the 90-day low, it's a great time to buy. If it's near the high, consider waiting.

STEP 04

Set a Price Alert (Optional)

Don't want to buy right now? Enter your email and your target price. We'll email you the moment a retailer drops to your price — no account needed.

Price alerts are free. We only send one email per alert — no spam, ever.

STEP 05

Buy at the Best Price

Click "Buy at [Retailer]" to go directly to the product page at the cheapest retailer. You pay the same price you'd pay going directly — we never add markup.

We earn a small affiliate commission from some retailers when you click through. This keeps the service free and doesn't affect prices.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is BestPriceScanner free?

Yes — completely free. No sign-up, no subscription, no browser extension required. We earn a small affiliate commission from some retailers when you buy, which keeps the service running.

How often are prices updated?

Prices are updated every hour from Best Buy, Walmart, and eBay. Amazon prices update multiple times daily via the Keepa API. If a price looks outdated, the timestamp on each retailer card shows the last check.

Why doesn't a product show all retailers?

We only show retailers that actually carry that specific product. Not every retailer stocks every item, so the list varies by product.

Do you add any markup to prices?

Never. The prices you see are pulled directly from the retailer. The price you pay when you click through is exactly what the retailer charges.

How do price alerts work?

Enter your email and a target price on any product page. When any retailer drops to that price or below, we send you one email with a direct link to buy. We don't store your email after the alert fires.

What retailers do you cover?

Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, and eBay are fully integrated. We're continuously adding more US retailers.
